What kind of medicine is Cialis?


Cialis is the trade name of a  medicine whose scientific name is tadalafil. Cialis is one of a class of

medicines known as PDE-5 (Phosphodiesterase type 5) inhibitors.

The other two medicines in this class are Viagra (sildenafil) and Levitra (vardenafil )

Will Cialis affect my blood pressure?
Cialis may lower blood pressure, which is not a problem for most men. However, Cialis's effect on blood

pressure can be dangerous if you take Cialis at the same time as taking a medication that contains nitrates.

Nitrates are one of the medicines that doctors regularly prescribe for angina.

If you take Cialis at the same time as taking nitrates, the combination of the two medicines may cause your

blood pressure to fall to a very dangerously low level, which could be fatal. In addition, you must not take Cialis

if you are taking alpha blockers that are normally prescribed for prostate problems or high blood pressure.

Can I take Cialis if I have  heart problems?

  • Cialis shouldn’t taken more than once a day.

If you are older than age 65, or have serious liver or kidney problems, your doctor may start you at the lowest

dose (10 mg) of Cialis. If you are taking protease inhibitors, such as for the treatment of HIV, your GP may

recommend a 10 mg dose and may restrict you to a maximum single dose of 10mg of Cialis in a 48 hour period. .

WARNING:  If you are  taking medicines that contain nitrates of any kind, at any time, must never use CIALIS.

This includes nitro-glycerine. If you take CIALIS with any nitrate medicine, your blood pressure could suddenly

drop to an unsafe or life threatening level.

Cialis is an impotence treatment similar to Viagra but with one main difference, it lasts between 24 and 36 hours, its been nicknamed the weekend pill because it lasts a weekend. So if you don't want to plan your love life around a tablet this could be the one for you.
